The Native American Music Awards represents the Native American Community and their music which prides itself on its traditions and cultures and keeping them intact. Ayi Jihu will accompany Top Native American Haida Singer Terri Lynn who is herself up for several Awards this year.

Chinese Star Ayi Jihu embraces the Native American Indian community

Ayi Jihu has been working with the Native American Indian community in various ways for some time building up firm relationships within the Native Indian community.  This is all part of the Ayi Jihu and Shlepp Entertainment Ltd Strategy of going right to the roots of things in culture, music and art.  Ayi Jihu does not just talk about ‘keeping it real’, She is trying hard to live it.

Ayi Jihu is also hoping to take her FearChaser anti-bullying message back into schools on this trip continuing where she left off the last time she was in Canada.  Angela DeMontigny will be joining Ayi Jihu on this short school tour in an effort to help inspire and teach the kids positive ways to express themselves through Fashion and music as well as how to cope and deal with Cyber bullying and intimidation, something she and her own kids have experienced being Native American.

We spoke briefly to Ayi on the phone and she told us she is ‘humbled and honored to be invited to the NAMA awards and wants to do her best to represent her own Native Yi people of China well’.  She also told us she is ‘very excited at the prospect of perhaps working with Terri Lynn’.  She said the two had ‘discussed some sort of musical collaboration’.  Ayi also stated she is ‘excited about her Toronto tour in Asian Heritage week and is looking forward to doing lots of positive things in the great city of Toronto as well as working with the kids again’.

Global News shall be covering the Ayi Jihu tour of Toronto with Anglea DeMontigny, including their appearance at the Native American Music Awards, with Terri Lynn and all the other amazing projects, Tv and press and music they will be undertaking.  We shall bring you the news here first.

Chinese Star Ayi Jihu announced as Sisha Ambassador

Fresh on the heels of the pre-release of her latest single It’s Magic (due out April 1st 2013) which is all about love. Ayi Jihu seems to be putting her money where her Fear Chasing mouth is as she is announced as an Ambassador for Anti Human Trafficking and Exploitation Organization SISHA

Seasoned Ayi watchers will not be surprised to hear Ayi is representing another Charitable organization but even they will recognize that Ayi Jihu representing Sisha is a little bit more. Sisha is a very hard hitting and proactive organization at the Sharp end of Human trafficking and Exploitation in Asia. This is not a ‘Walk in the park’ or an easy assignment. This is real FearChaser® stuff.

In our last article we brought you the news that Ayi Jihu would be attending the Premiere screening of Fredi Kruga Film ‘If Only’. Ayi Jihu is a supporter of C.R.I.M.E (Creating Role Models in Media Enterprise).

Last night we were able to join Ayi Jihu at the Screening of ‘If Only’ (our review will follow this article) and report on the events of the night.

As we walked into 195 Piccadilly the first thing we noticed was the turn out. Hundreds of people where here to watch the screening of Fredi Kruga’s first feature. Not bad for an Ex Gang member turned Social leader and now writer, Director and Film Producer.

Among the guest where people from all walks of life, From Ex Gang Members to Social leaders, Members of the Cast, community workers and celebrities. Fredi Kruga’s movie had caught the interest of many.

In fact such was the interest in Fredi’s Movie one screening was not enough. Instead two screenings had to be arranged to accommodate everyone.

Before the actual screening itself we were treated to a few words from the man himself Fredi Kruga. Up until now he was hard to find such was the throng always surrounding him. Fredi Kruga is not a small man by the way. He spoke of his passion for this movie, his motivation and what he was trying to achieve with it and his organization C.R.I.M.E.

Fredi Kruga is an inspired man. He is a man on a mission. Perhaps it was his seeing in Ayi a kindred spirit that made him reach out the Ayi Jihu (The Fear Chaser) to join him on his quest to re-educate the youth going astray in Gangs and street violence. Perhaps losing 40 people he personally knew to street violence and gangs pushed him over the edge to make a change. Whatever it was you knew one thing when you listened to Fredi Kruga. He was serious!

We are also told that ‘If only’ is not just a film. It’s and educational and social tool that will be taken to schools, prisons and workshops all over the country. You will have to read our review (coming soon) to find out more about this film. Was it any good? However before you even go there if you are paying attention you will get a clue as to why this film is a little different to many that try to tackle the subject of Gang violence and street crime. If Only was not made just to exploit, or turn your head. It was not made to glorify commercialize Gangs and violence. It was made to tell the truth and teach. It was made by a man who has more experience of it than many who cry from the rooftops that they know about all of this stuff. ‘If Only’ was made to be real.

Throughout the film you could hear a pin drop. From start to finish (give or take moments when laughter, and yes there are some moments of humor in this film, were appropriate) everyone was completely involved in it. It was that type of film.

After the film Fredi Kruga found himself, Once again’ engulfed. Even more now everyone wanted to talk to Fredi Kruga, perhaps a little incredulous at what they had just seen. ‘If Only’ is not what you expect. It’s better than what you expected (Now there is a little clue huh?)

Ayi Jihu looked stunning as always in her Young Native ensemble by Angela DeMontigny, but the star of the night was Fredi Kruga. It seems he has gone from the stuff of nightmares to the stuff of Dreams.

International Women of Worth, Catherine Anne Clark and Ayi Jihu

January 11, 2012 Leave a comment

Looking at Chinese star Ayi Jihu and A Celebration of Women Founder Catherine Anne Clarke together does not automatically throw up ‘Kindred spirit’ However in truth both these women have very much in common.

Ayi Jihu has fought against her fears, tradition, culture and even her own people to establish herself independently as China’s first true crossover musical and popular icon. She has done what many have tried before and failed to achieve and she has done it mostly on her own. Catherine Anne Clarke in establishing her foundation A Celebration of Women Foundation Inc has had to go it alone also. Swimming against the tide to create what many are now seeing as a potential world leading organization in the next several years.

These two women have more in common than is first apparent when you see them together. They both have a self sacrificing attitude to their work. preferring to give to others rather than take for themselves. They both work hours that would kill most of us 14 to 16 hour days non stop. They both believe in something bigger than themselves and the circle they move in, and they both are building an international business.

As big as this world may seem, we realize just how small it is when like minded souls find each other amidst Billions of people. In truth it is not that hard because people like Catherine Anne Clarke and Ayi Jihu are far and few between, rare, and so finding each other is easier than one may think. 2012 promises to be the year both these ‘Women of Worth’ truly push themselves firmly above the Radar. Let us hope they both continue to inspire others to rise above their circumstances and be much more than this world says they should and can be.
